TL;DR

If you have taken too much cannabis, here are some steps you can take:

  • Relax and stay calm; the effects of too much cannabis usually last a few hours
  • Stay Hydrated
  • Eat complex carbohydrates, fatty acids and bananas
  • Sniff or chew black peppercorns
  • Drink some ginger, peppermint or lemon peel tea
  • Take some CBD
  • Seek help if needed

If you have taken too much Cannabis, here are some steps you can take:

  1. Relax and stay calm: Try to find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down and relax. Take slow and deep breaths to calm you down and reduce anxiety. A nap gives your body time to process and eliminate cannabis.

  2. Stay Hydrated: Drink water or other non-alcoholic beverages to help flush out any excess THC from your system.

  3. Eat: If you are feeling nauseous or have an upset stomach, eating a small snack can help to settle it. However, be mindful of what you eat, as certain foods can worsen symptoms. See below for some snack suggestions.

  4. Use black peppercorns: Sniffing (not inhaling) or chewing on black peppercorns has been known to help reduce the intensity of the effects of cannabis. Caryophyllene, which can be found in black peppercorns, increases the sedative effects of THC.

  5. Eat some pine nuts: Pinene, a compound in pine nuts, has a calming effect. Don’t try this if you have a nut allergy, though.

  6. Try some CBD: Yeah, this may sound counterintuitive, but CBD can counteract the effects of THC, the calming effect of CBD might help balance your effects.

  7. Drink some lemon peel tea: Lemon peels can have a calming effect and could counteract some of the psychoactive effects of THC. Steep some lemon peels in hot water, remove them and drink the tea.

  8. Wait it out: The effects of too much cannabis usually last a few hours. In severe cases, the effects can last up to 24 hours.

  9. Seek help if needed: If you are feeling extremely anxious, panicked, or having difficulty breathing, please call emergency services right away. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

These recommendations are general and may not be appropriate for everyone. If you have a medical condition and are taking other medications as well, it is best to consult a doctor.

What should I eat to reduce the effects of Cannabis?

If you have taken too much Cannabis and are feeling nauseous or have an upset stomach, eating a small snack can help to settle it. Here are some foods that are commonly recommended to help ease the symptoms:

  1. Complex carbohydrates: Foods like bread, crackers, or pasta can help to absorb excess THC and ease an upset stomach.

  2. Fatty foods: Fatty foods like avocado, nuts, or cheese can help slow the absorption of THC into the bloodstream.

  3. Ginger: Ginger has natural anti-inflammatory and nausea-reducing properties, which can help to ease an upset stomach.

  4. Peppermint: Peppermint is a natural remedy that can help to soothe an upset stomach and relieve nausea.

  5. Bananas: Bananas are a good source of potassium, which can help to counterbalance any electrolyte imbalances caused by excessive cannabis consumption.

Just to remind you, these recommendations are for general guidance only, and what may work for one person may not work for another. It is best to listen to your body and eat what feels comfortable. Please reach out to a medical professional if you are not feeling good.
